The date 12/12/2012 is really special and we’re extremely happy to announce the alpha release of BoxCryptor for Chrome today! BoxCryptor for Chrome is a browser plugin for Google Chrome for files which are stored in your Dropbox or Google Drive. With the plugin you can easily encrypt and decrypt your files directly in your browser – there is no additional local software necessary. You can use the plugin for example when you are not on your own computer and want to access your encrypted files – without having to install the full BoxCryptor version. BoxCryptor for Chrome does not only encrypt and decrypt your files, but also the filenames. The encrypted filenames are decrypted on-the-fly and directly replaced by plain text so that you can easily find the file you are looking for. To use it, you need Google Chrome Dev Channel version 25.0 which is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux and can be downloaded here.
